Epic Games has released Unreal Engine 4.21. Some of the highlights of this release includes: updated Niagara effects toolset, new replication graph plugin, new optimizations targeting mobile platforms, improved Vulkan support on Android, new Cooker performance(up to 60% reductions in cook times), and new Pixel streaming. Epic Games has released Unreal Engine 4.19. Some of the highlights for this release includes: Temporal Upsampling, Dynamic Resolution, Unified Unreal AR Framework, Unified Unreal AR Framework Project Template, Physical Light Units, Live Link Plugin improvements, Sequencer improvements, Landscape rendering optimizations, and a new experimental Proxy LOD system. Don't forget that Epic Games is also giving away all of their assets for Paragon. You can view them all here.

This month saw the Khronos Group releasing Vulkan 1.1. New functionality in this release includes Subgroup Operations, support for the new SPIR-V 1.3 specification (for Vulkan's shader intermediate representation) and a wide range of Vulkan 1.0 extensions that has been promoted to the Vulkan 1.1 core. MoltenVK has now been made Open Source on Github. MoltenVK is a library that translates calls with the Vulkan graphics and compute API to underlying calls to Apple's Metal API on both iOS and macOS. Read more here.
